Weather, Warm. 72F for the high.

Bugs, TERRIBLE! O_O

So today rather known as Hay day!, because we found someone else, but charges a quarter more, and smaller bales, but at least its good hay! So 4 loads today (100 bales or so) we did, fills almost the rest of the barn, and thank goodness it didn't threat rain! So after all that was done, I went to go spend some UT with the horses. I filled their water bucket, and before the hay I took apart the broken hackamore, and hopefully the longer end of it could be made into a lead, and since the halter is bigger because it was made for a hackamore, I tried it out on the drafts to see if it would fit them. I tried Glory first because her head is the biggest. It BARELY fit her. about an inch or two to tie the knot, but I can make it work! :-D It fit Molly better, but at least I know that I can use that halter now instead of the metal hardware one that has only been fitting them! :-D So then after the hay and all, Molly was facing rear towards me, she was resting/sleeping, so I came up from behind her, not sneaking, and I decided to rest too. So put my elbow on her hip, and rested there. She was surprised, but but more weight into leaning on me, then she walked off. So I went up to her back, and put my arm around her, and she seemed to like that better, and I rubbed her fetlocks with my shoes because the flies were bugging her down there. So then I fussed around with her hooves, picking them up, then putting them down, she didn't seem to comfortable with it, and bent her head around towards me, or tried kicking her way loose of my grip, but when I rubbed her she settled down. then I went over to try that on Glory who was eating hay in the stall. She was moody for sure. I would rub, then squeeze, and she would come around with her head, and I'd her her mouth open for a bite, so I got out of the way, but she moved or trotted off whenever I tried, so I guess I need to work on that some more, but with the halter and lead on. So then I hung out with them, rubbed Jessie, and she was in a really good mood. She would prick her ears whenever she saw me! :-D So then I did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a Nice day. :-D

Weather, Nice and sunny.

Bugs, Terrible!

So today I thought the only way to get someone out there, and play with me is if I took either Molly or Glory, so I played with Glory today, and got A. to play with Jessie and us. So I went in with the halter and 12ft line. Jessie pricked her ears at me, and I went over to rub her, and she put her ears back, but not in a mean way. So after I rubbed her, I moved off to get Glory. Jessie was surprised that I didn't catch her. And Glory turned her rear towards me when I came in because she must have thought that I was going to let Jessie and Molly out to graze. But when I came up her her, she pricked her ears, and got into position to let me halter her, and when I put it on, Molly came over, Clearly jealous, and actually shoved her head in the way, but I had already slipped the halter over Glory's nose, and so I shooed her away, and Molly had a mean look on her face, almost pouting, so I waved the end of the 12ft line around, and she went off, but with a different face. So then I played with Glory. She didn't have too good of a sideways going to the left, but to the right was good. So then I groomed her, tacked her up with the BP, then played with her a little to the stump where I got up, and she lined herself up nicely, then I got on. She turned her head some times to bite my foot, and she kept on wanting to eat, its harder with her to quit eating because she has more strength than Jessie, and she did have a rush of adrenaline when we went out back, but overall it was a pretty good ride. Then A. wanted to go on the trails, and since I didn't think Glory is trail safe yet, I agreed to walk along with, and Glory kept on looking at everything, and trying to eat, and not caring that her Mother is making a scene whinnying like crazy for her worried. She wanted to check everything out, Forget Mom! :-D So when we got to the log jump I tried to send her, but she kept on eating, and using a CS is much offense to her I think, and she overeacts when I use it, so I left it back by the pasture. So I took the end of the 12ft line, and waved it at her, and what does she do? Keeps right on eating, and STEPS OVER the jump. This is a pretty good sized log here. Larger around than a 55 gallon barrel. So I try again, and the same thing. She even rolled it a little bit. So then we wandered around some more, I'm trying to keep her from eating the ferns because I heard that they're not supposed to eat them, and I wriggle the rope, and what does she do? Still tacked up with the BP, She rolls. And rolls, And rolls, And rolls! This was in a dip of the sort on the trail, with lots of leaves, and she gets the dirt ground in with the leaves, and I have a lovely look nature, nature scented BP. I also noticed that there was A Lot more crackling of the leaves because her hooves are bigger. You couldn't hear much with her walking. :-D So then we went back, and I put Glory in, and I made her run off to make room for Jessie to come in, and A. let Molly in the back pasture, and Molly cantered around Glory, then also settled down to graze. So I put Jessie in, and let her loose, and I had her run off to graze, but she only trotted. So then I put everything back, then went in.

Later on I came back out, did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Oh yes, we got bright orange hunting cover over? vests! Now we could probably go trail riding during hunting season! :-D

Overall it was a Pretty Good day. :-D

Weather, Cooler, and breezy, some rain showers.

So no session for today because of the rain, just UT.
But I did let out Jessie and Molly to graze the front today. So when I went into the pasture, they were pushy today, Glory being really dominant by chasing Jessie around making her canter/gallop, and Molly just driving her out of the way so she'd be caught and put out first. So I drove them away from me, then waited until they came in nicely. Jessie came over first with her ears half and half with mixed emotions, so I rubbed her, then I put the halter on, and let her out, and she pricked her ears fast, and went off grazing. So then I went back to my spot, and waited for Molly. She right over. So I haltered her, then ran to the gate. Molly laid back her ears, and started trotting after me. So I made a movement to wipe the face off, then I let her out. So then I was just watching them, and rubbing Glory a little bit before I went in, and Molly after grazing for about 10 seconds, Galloped of at the spot, and then settled down soon after grazing in a different area. Then I gave Glory some leftover hay, then went in.

Later on I came back out to put Jessie and Molly in. Jessie raised her head and waited for me, and Molly just kept eating. Then when they were both in, and I had taken their halters off, I spent some UT with them, and having fun with Glory, poking her (Like she would shove her muzzle at you), then move off to shove at you elsewhere.) It was quite fun. I don't think she saw it as much fun, but when I rubbed her, I got the M&M, and she was happy. So then I went to go see Molly again, then Jessie, and fend off Molly and Glory again, and rub her, then I went in. Later on after that I came back out, did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Also I got the SC DVD in today! :-D I watched the whole thing, and I think it was one of their Best DVDs ever sent out so far. It was really Great. :-D

Overall it was a Pretty Good day. :-D

So when I got outside, the lightning had already kicked up, so I did chores really fast, by then it was already raining, then as soon as the next lightning strike hit down, I bolted back up to the house, and then it rained harder. So I only had some UT for today. :-D For the evening chores it wasn't raining, but everything was really wet.

Weather, Cloudy, but some sun. Breezy.

Bugs, Not too bad.

The transformation begins! No more English saddle! So today I went over to Jessie, rubbed her all over with the halter which she liked I think, and then when she walked off a bit I went over, and we did the backup by the tail at liberty. She needed a little help, but it was pretty good. So then I haltered her, groomed her, tacked her up with the BP, and we went out back. We played the circling game, falling leaf, and driving from zone 5 with her on a higher ledge than me. She seemed Much happier today because I guess of not having a saddle on, or just not having the English saddle on. :-D So then out back we played the yo-yo game, circling game, and a bit of the sideways game, then I led her over to a stump where I got on, and we rode around. It felt nice and comfy riding with the BP as its always been, and she had her ears pricked for most of the ride. But the only downfall of it is when she wants to go her way (Which she felt a lot during this ride and took advatage of it) and she'd do one of those fast turns I'd have to hang on, and she'd be on her way. So after that I'd try to turn her in the way I wanted to go, but then she'd do another trick, and she'd slam her head down, and bend her knee a little to get me off balance, and she'd go her way again. So I beat her at her own game. I grabbed myself some mane, and just basically hung on while she tried her tricks, and I'd turn her just as she tried going her way, and after some tries I got to go my way. But she tried doing this during some parts of the ride. So we mostly walked, but some trotting which was fun. We also did some sideways without a fence going to the right which seems to have become her best way to go, but to the left is not too good. But of course it was towards the gate so I'm guessing that whichever way is the fence she'd go better that way. A. also came out, and knocked down apples, and she took some for feeds later, and also gave Jessie some, so we hung around her for the most part of that. So then we were let out, and I decided it would be nice to go on a trail ride. (I need to get something orange for the both of us since its hunting season.) I had problems with her putting her head down real fast to graze, and her not wanting to go out on the trails, but when I started backing her out to the trails I think she had a thought, and she remembered that any other time she tried this that I backed her out onto the trails, and she didn't want to do that again, so she gave in, and we went onto the trails, but she was munching on everything left and right, but as soon as we went on the trails, she had her ears pricked, and wanted to go out onto the trails. So then we went back, and going down the hill to the barn, she put her head down real fast, and bent her knee, and started to graze. Normally its easy to stay on when you're not on a slope, but on a hill, this is Not fun. I almost slid down her neck as if I were on a slide! But I stayed on, and I brought her head up, and we went on down to the barn where I got off, gave her a big hug, and swayed back and forth, swaying Jessie back and forth, and I think she was wondering what in the world I was doing. So then I untacked, and there was only ruffled fur from where the BP kept on slipping, but NO Pinches or Bumps! :-D So then I let her loose, gave her an apple for a treat, and I shooed her away from the gate to graze out front. So then I got Molly's halter, and went to the other end of the front pasture and waited. Glory started coming over, then Molly Followed Glory, and after Glory put her head in place so I could put the halter on her, Molly came over, and shoved her head in place of Glory's to be haltered. :-D It was cute, seeing them wanting to be haltered and all. So then after I haltered her, I ran over to the gate, and after Molly saw me running, she trotted over to the gate! :-D So then I let her out, and she trotted around a little bit, and Jessie trotted with her as well, then they settled down to eat, then I put everything away, gave Glory hay, then went in.

Later on I came back out, and gave them water, hung out with them for a few minutes, then went in.
We went to go look at a harness as well for Molly or Glory. She said that it fit a very large 16hh QH when we got there, and I looked at the bridle, and it only would have fit Jessie. :-/ Oh well. It was in pretty good shape compared to some harnesses I've seen, but it was in desperate need of a good cleaning.
Then I came back out later on after that, did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a Pretty Good day. :-D

So I took their halters, and went to the other side of the front pasture, and waited. Jessie came, and when I said Hiya to her, she sidepassed me, and left. So then Glory came over, and I picked her a handfull or two of grass, and Molly came over, and she got the idea fast. So I let her out, then went back to my spot to wait for Jessie. She came over again, and when I said Hiya, she sidepassed me again. So I gave Glory some more grass, and Jessie came over to lip up what grass was left, then went off. So I moved over to the stump and sat there for awhile, rubbing Glory, shooing flies and ladybugs away from her, which she loved, then moved back to my spot, and waited some more. 5-10 minutes total, and still nowhere. So I went by her swinging the halter rope around, and that got her moving, and then she turned to me with a crabby face. I wasn't going to halter her with that kind of face, so I backed up, and she pricked her ears up a little bit, and followed me. So that was good enough for me. So I haltered her, and put her out with Molly. She got the idea I think.
Weather, Nice. Mostly cloudy, windy, and slightly warmer. Made it up to 60F.

Bugs, Bad.

So today I went down to the barn to play with Jessie. So instead of just catching her, I went up to her, and she moved her hindquarters away from me like I usually do to catch her, but instead I just kept moved to her until I got to her, then I rubbed her with the halter All over. I think she was pleasantly surprised at that, and even seemed to really enjoy the halter rubbing her favorite spots. So then I haltered her, groomed her, then tacked her up English, but a different way. I put the shims on the bottom so maybe there wouldn't be those marks, then I played some bit of a circling game, then sideways, and squeeze, then got on from the stump. When I was playing, A. came out, and decided to play with Molly, so I waited and rode around some (Jessie was Really crabby today, and did Not want to go Anywhere I asked, little rears here and there to give her opinion to me about where I wanted to go all throughout the session, but not too much. So I waited until she was done grooming, and then we went out back. Jessie followed A., Molly, and Glory out back, and Glory spooked at something in the weeds outside of the fence, and when Jessie saw that she spooked, she did a little bit of a spook, and we went up the steep part of the pond dike, but when we got past the area, she just looked, and then sighed because there was nothing to worry about. So we got out back, and A. played with Molly, and I was trying to get Jessie to listen to me, but I had to settle for less, but it was still Ok. Molly was RB, and she'd freak out at a sudden movement as if April were asking her to get going at a gallop, and lost her once, but she stopped to graze when she found a patch nearby, and almost lost her again, but she hung on. So we worked on backups, sideways without a fence, (Going to the right was Really Great!) and going to the left was nearly impossible, but I got it a few times. Then we wandered around, she did Not want to move. She had a couple of freak moments when she flinched away, because Molly and Glory were RB, and were going fast, nothing major until A. let Molly loose, and she swung the CS and SS around Molly's neck as if to walk around with her, and Molly was off like something blew up. Then in those split . some seconds, Glory went, then Jessie spooked a few feet really fast, and I slid off. :-[ As Molly and Glory were going, I thought, eh, Jessie wouldn't spook just because of that, but she did, and as I was sliding, I thought to myself Very Calmly, Oh, just let go, and I was really relaxed as I fell, and I fell on my hip/back? Pretty much the farthest my hip goes, Its a bit sore, but I've had worse, and I'll live. The only thing I was really mad about was me not having a good enough seat to sit that, and my breeches got really dirty. So really as soon as I slid about halfway off of Jessie, she stopped dead. Then when I got up, she was already grazing. So while I was talking to A. about what happened, she mentioned something about oats. And I thought, That's where all this energy is coming from! But why is Jessie so crabby and really lazy? So after that, I thought to myself, if she was going to be all spooky, I'd better get her back to LB. So I played with her some more, here and there, and over the log jump, and A. took movies of me and Jessie. Thank you A! So then I asked her if she could take a movie of Jessie and I going sideways. So after a bit of asking, she did, and am I ever glad that I did! It took awhile for her to listen to me, but when I thought I got a nice one going, Jessie's hindquarters were Way back there, and it wasn't a sideways I'd like to have anyone see! So anyway, after that, and some more riding around, I took Jessie's halter off, and we went brideless for awhile. I was trying to get her out back, but she wouldn't give in, even with re-enforcing CS. So then we were rounding the front farthest corner, she took off at a surprise trot out back! :-D So we walked and trotted out back! :-D Then we rode around some more, then we went down to the barn trotting some, then I got off, and wanted to see how the marks turned out after I changed where I put things. Well, there wasn't pinch marks, but there were BUMPS?! O_O I Really don't know what to do. So I massaged her and her bumps, and they went away with a bit of time, but still, I've No idea what is happening, or what I should do. If any of you out there who read this, (I hope) and have gone through something like this, Please let me know your opinions, and what you've done, because I'm on my last leg here. And I know that she isn't allergic to the fabric that I use either. So then I gave her a treat, then went out back, chased Molly and Glory back down, and only Molly started running, Glory rasied her head, and pricked her ears at me, so I went over to her, and I rubbed her, and I swung my CS, and SS up around her, and she saw Molly going down, so she went down at a trot, then cantered. So then I put the fence back up to separate them from going out back until the grass grows again, and after all the galloping around, it really tore it up some. Too much oats I think. So by the time I was done putting that up, Glory and Molly came over to me to see what I was doing, and Glory was sniffing me because I smelled like apples, and I had one for her and Molly, so they Really liked that, and Jessie was right behind them, so when I was walking back down, I rubbed Jessie a bit, and when I left, she gave me her usual pricked ears, then I went back down to the barn, put everything back, then went in.

Later on I came back out, did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a Fairly Nice day. :-D

Weather, Warmer, but was still mostly cloudy, yet some parts of the day were really bright, rain in the late afternoon.

Bugs, Bad!

So today I let Jessie and Molly out to graze the front for some part of the day, and I had a little bit of playing at liberty with Glory, and after part of the day, I put Jessie and Molly back in. Later on I came back out, and played a little bit at liberty with Jessie. :-D I didn't ask much of her today, mostly friendly, and the backup by the tail, she doesn't know when to stop! So anyway, I played the driving game with her, then I got her draw really good, and she was trotting towards me! And with her ears up for most of the time! :-D And then we played the driving game at the trot, and we went running out towards the back! :-D Then she fell behind, and she turned back towards the barn trotting and even cantering a little bit, but I drew her back in, and we were fine. So then some more friendly, then it started to rain. So I gave her an apple for a treat, then it started to rain harder as I just hung out with her, so I went to the barn, and she followed me! :-D Molly was going to chase her off not to go into the barn, but I stopped her with my CS, and I hung out with Jessie in there until it stopped raining so hard, then I did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a Great day! :-D

Weather, Chilly, but not as cold. Mostly cloudy.

So today I looked out the window, and there was Molly and Glory laying down. So knowing me, I hurried out with the camera, and took pictures of all of them. Jessie just stood there, Molly got up, and I got a funny picture of that, and Glory didn't move at all but her head, so I went over to her and rubbed her a bit, then I took pictures of Jessie as well, went over to rub her, and she laid her ears back a bit as if to say, "Leave me alone! I'm trying to sleep!" So anyway I rubbed her, then went in. A minute or two later, Jessie was laying down! :-D So I went back out, and she gave me pretty much the same face, but just moved her head around some, As if to say "You were already out here doing something with that boxy looking thing!" So after I took some more pictures, I rubbed her a bit more, then went in. Later on I went down to the barn, went out back to catch Jessie, and she played a game with me, but she finally gave in, and came to me, but with her ears back. I should've done something else, but I haltered her, and played with her for a bit. Some half circles, sideways, yo-yos, and on the way down to the barn driving from zone 5. So then I groomed her, tacked her up English, got on from the stump, and off we went. We went everywhere. First we just wandered out back, and I go her listening to me, and we went away from the rest of the herd, and I tried doing some circles at a trot, but she always went to a walk, tried going towards the herd, and acted really crabby when I asked to go the rest of the circle. So after that we did some waves at the trot, which was really fun to me, but I highly doubt it was fun to her. And pretty much Every Single gait you could get out of a walk and trot, she did! It was really quite interesting! To me when I was riding it felt like, her fast trot, Fast pacy trot, a gaited? fast walk, extended walk and trot, and I tried many ways on to post, or just do a two point. It was really interesting, and all through the session. So then we wandered around some more, and I asked her to go sideways without a fence just to see what would happen, and she did! Not very good, and I used my CS some, but it was a sideways of some sort! :-D And Both ways too! :-D It was harder for her to go to the right for some reason, I don't know what it was. It could've been many things. My first thought was the saddle, and the blankets because whenever I untack, there has been pinch? marks! :-( I'm guessing whenever I tighten the girth the blankets scrunch up, or the saddle flaps go tightly with the other part of the saddle to pinch her! :-( My poor Jessie! But it really didn't seem to bother her. So then we wandered over to the fence, and tried sideways along the fence. MUCH better, and I didn't really have to use my CS. :-D So then after some more walking and trotting, up the pond dike 6? times, we'd go down the not steep way. So then we wandered out back some more, and we went back down to the barn where I took off her halter, (Still mounted) and we went bridleless for a while. Just wandering around, even up the pond dike. She has a happier expression when we're bridleless, too. So we walked and trotted around bridleless for awhile, re-enforcing with the CS when she wasn't listening to my body language, and then after a while of that we went back down to the barn, where I put the halter back on, (Still mounted) and since she was into the fast trot, I thought if she wanted to trot that fast, she could canter! So I asked her, and she just only trotted faster, then we got to Glory who was by the log jump, and we stopped there, and visited with her for a minute, then we went into the front part of the back pasture, and I asked her to canter again, and we were trotting faster and faster almost to the point where she would have cantered, but I felt her, actually FELT her feel mad, and ticked off, and she was scrunching up, and she Bucked! I didn't do an emergrancy dismount, for one, her emotions went through so fast, and I just broke them down here, and I thought she might've gone into the canter. It wasn't really hard to sit, and since she wasn't too light today I switched from my CS to just the SS to use for a phase 4, that might have been too much to use? But she was really not going anywhere using lighter phases. And again I thought of the saddle issue. So after some more walking and trotting around, me using the two point on sitting her trot, and we went up the pond dike again, and I let her go down it since she knew it was the shorter way to the barn, and whenever we went the long way, she'd try to duck towards the barn, and go her way. So we went down the steep pond dike, went up again, (We trotted up some times) and she wanted to go down again, so since I wanted to try it again to maybe get used to steep hills, we were going down, and I felt her back leg itch? something, and her tail swish, and she bucked again! On the steep pond dike! It couldn't have been a real good buck since its so steep, but I was basically standing upwards in the stirrups on that one, but again, I think it might have been easier to sit than the other one! So I was really wondering what could be bothering her, so after we rode down to the barn, I got off, untacked, and those marks were there again. :-( I really don't know what to do at this point. Go western all the time? But anyway, I got the 22' line, and we went out back where we played driving from zone 5 all the way back, some cutting style play, and then I tried getting her to canter at the circling game. It took awhile, but I got her to canter around Twice Both Ways! :-D So then we wandered around out back for some time, me trying to get her to wander out all the way on the 22' line, but she only used about 12ft of it. So then we looked for apples, and I used my CS to knock down some for us, and I'd give Jessie one, rub one off for myself, and by the time I get my first bite, Jessie is done, and was looking at me in wonderment that I could get an apple! :-D So then I'd bite into it again, and she'd get interested, and a little bit greedy, putting her head up to where my apple was, and sniffing. So I'd give her my share, and I'd get another one for myself, same thing again. It was really cute! And fun! So then after I got some more apples for the others we went over to the coop jump, and I set it up to the highest I could get, and I sent her to it, hoping she'd go into the canter, but I wasn't picky, and she did slow down a little, then jumped it clear! :-D So then I tried again from the other way, and she cantered to it, but trotted the last 20? ft, and she did her stop, then jumped it. So then I tried again both ways, and she only knocked it down once! :-D So then I left it at that, and we wandered around some more, and then I chased Molly and Glory down to the barn so I could put the fence up in-between the front and back pastures to let the back pasture grow again, and Glory swung her hindquarters around, and faced me! :-D She thought that I was playing her her! :-D It was cute! So then I drove them down, then Jessie followed me down to the barn where I gave Glory an apple since we went by her, and I did the same thing I did with Jessie, I took a bite into it, and Glory was really wondering what I was doing, but then smelled it, and I gave it to her. By the Jessie knew what I was doing, and I walked away, and she wasn't following my feel on the rope, so I looked back, and Jessie was still by Glory trying to get a little piece hoping she'd share, but she came to me, and after I took bite or two, she got another one, so I put everything back, let her loose, gave her a treat, then went to go see if Molly would come and get her apple. But Jessie and Glory were following me in hopes on getting another apple. And I don't blame them! Those apples are good! :-D So I tossed the apple into the air, and catching it, and Molly would look over at me, so I rubbed Jessie, and ran off towards Molly, and Jessie and Glory just stayed down there, so I went up to Molly biting into the apple to make it sound really crunchy, and she didn't really seem to care much, but was obviously watching. But I think she took it as a smooch to get her to go down to the barn, and she trotted down where I went over to her, and as soon as she saw it, she took it, and ate it fast. :-D She really liked that one! :-D So then I did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a very Odd and Interesting day!

Weather, Chilly, Was 38F. Mostly cloudy, some sun. WINDY! O_O

So today I thought it would be nice to play with Jessie, ride, etc. So I go out back to get her, and they all run down to the barn, (Jessie only walking and trotting) and since they didn't eat their hay from before, they started to munch on it. Also, they've not been drinking much water. :-/ So I tied Jessie, divided the hay up so there wouldn't be any fusses. I noticed that the horses were a bit RB at everything. Jessie kept on spooking up at things. It must be the wind, but while I was tacking up English, Jessie got the lead rope around her head, and I was coming back with the saddle, She had another freak moment, and pulled back, and kept on trying to pull back, and after a few seconds, she calmed down, and I got everything back, I untangled her, and just put the rope around, but not tied. So as I was putting the blanket on again, she had another moment, so I played around with everything, making sure she wasn't spooked out anymore, so then while I was adjusting the saddle, Molly and Glory went out back at a gallop, and Jessie moved around a bit, but I talked to her, and that seemed fine, but then Jessie whinnyed to Molly and Glory, but they didn't answer back, so she figured I'd do for a herd person, so I finished saddling, and I played all the way out back, doing some circling, falling leaf, and driving from zone 5. So when we got out back, I was playing the falling leaf, (Cutting Style), and she made a sideways step. So I tried getting her to go sideways, and I did! WITHOUT A FENCE, AND I WAS ABOUT 6F AWAY! :-D I did have to wriggle the rope to have her not go forward, but this is the first time this far away! :-D And it was pretty snappy! So by then she was licking her lips, and we played the yo-yo, some more circling, then driving from zone 3 from about 4-6ft away to the stump where I mounted, and then I rode around. Mostly walking because she was really lazy like, but I got some trotting. So after wandering around, I tried some circles, and then I tried half circles, and then we wandered some more, then we stopped for a bit, then went again. Then I got the CS, and did some CS riding, and when I went to phase 4 to trot, I just tapped her lightly as if I were on the ground to drive forward, and that worked out. So then we worked on our sideways with a fence, and that went really well, then we went out, and after a bit, Glory whinnied looking for Jessie, but then didn't worry. So I rode all around the place, and went on a little trail ride, then rode around some more, here and there, meaningless, but it was good to keep going. Jessie kept on putting her head down real fast to eat. So then after a little while more I got off, gave her a Big Hug, put her in, untacked, by that time Molly and Glory came down at a gallop, and I let her loose, gave her a treat, then did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a Nice day. :-D

Oh yes, we've found hay! More expensive, but at least its good! :-D

Was 36F.

So today I let Jessie and Molly out to graze and to just have UT with them since they've all got some moody agressive thing going on. So I let Jessie out, then Molly, I clicked at her twice, and she galloped out! Its a good thing she repects fences! O_O So then I helped with hauling wood for the winter, then later on when the horses were put in, I let them out in the back pasture that I've been trying to grow back. Then I went in. Later on after that I came back out to do chores, waited for them to come down, put hay in the racks, and waited a little bit more. They were reluctant to come down, but I ran towards them, and that got Glory and Molly going, and Jessie did trot for a little bit, but then stopped dead and put her head down real fast to graze. So I still kept running at her, and I got closer to her, and she raised her head up, and I just ran into her giving her a great big hug. :-D She must have been real surprised. :-D It was fun. So then after standing there with her for a little bit, I tapped her on her rear with my fingers, and she went off at a trot down to the barn, so I ran with her for most of the way, and then walked.
Weather, Chilly. With some sprinkling rain.

Bugs, Not bothering at all now. Seems like they've all gone away for the winter.

So today we went past Pat's Tack, and I saw that they had a sale going on, and so we went back and stopped in, and they had a tent sale, and I got a hunter green with navy trim (Jessie's stable colors) polar fleece saddle pad for only 5 dollars! I checked out the website where it was from, it's out of buisness, that's why it was on clearance. But when we got home I went out to the barn and tried it out! So I caught Jessie, groomed her, tacked her up English, (Started to sprinkle then) and then played a little before we went out. I should have played with her more, but of course I was in a hurry before it started to rain real hard. So then I got on from some steps, and then rode around. Mostly walking, but some trotting. Jessie wasn't in the mood for much, and kept on slamming her head down to eat. So I'd ask her to trot, (Going downhill) and I would be all relaxed, and then out of the blue she'd stop without warning, and bring her head down really fast to eat. :-/ So then it started to sprinkle more, so I got off, put her in, played with her some more, untacked, and then played with her some more, then we just hun out in the barn waiting for the rain to stop. Molly and Glory kept on bugging us, and Glory was really moody, so I acted like what the boss of the herd would do if she were ticking that horse off. I gave her a mean look, and then if she didn't move from that I'd stomp my foot, and if That didn't work, my extra leg of a carrot stick would swing near her, and then she'd move. And Molly really wanted to be rubbed, but whenever she gave Jessie the "boss" look, I'd do the same thing as I did with Glory, and she'd come back with her ears pricked. So whenever I stopped rubbing, she'd start up with the Very Cute M&M on my arm! :-D So then I rubbed again, and it was back and forth until I played with Jessie on getting her to back up by the tail out of the barn, then I let her loose, gave her a handful of grass for a treat, then went in.

Overall it was a not so great riding, but a Fun day for hanging out with them. :-D

Weather, Cool. Mostly cloudy.

Bugs, Not bad at all.

So today I played with Jessie a little bit at Liberty before the hay came. I mostly just did some turns, and backup by the tail, then the hay comes... I go over and look at it... Its ALL WARM, WET, AND MOLDY. O_O So after searching though the bales, only little parts of each bale were dry. So while we wait so the guy can take it back, I catch Jessie, groom her, then get on from the stump and rode around bareback for awhile. It took some work to get out out in the back part of the front pasture, but we got there, and we wandered around. Mostly walking, but some trotting, then we go back, and we worked on getting her to stop by letting my "life" down. It turned out Ok. So then I had to get off for a min to help put hay back on the wagon, then I got on again, then had to get off for something else, so I decided that I'd try getting on from the ground... Didn't work exactly. So I got a feed bucket. That was much of an advantage because I'm tall as it is, and adding a bucket that is fairly tall is really cheating, so instead of hopping on, I kept putting my right leg up and down, up and down, and then after Jessie got used to that, I put my leg all the way over, and my knee was touching my face. So then I grabbed a hold of the mane, and swung on. All the while Glory was bugging us. So then after riding around a little bit, the hay guy came, and I had taken the halter off of Jessie so we were B&B. So then I had to put Molly in so the hay guy could go around the front instead of trying to back out. So after I put Molly back in, I drew Jessie in, and I got on again, and we rode around for another couple of hours, mostly walking, but with some trotting, then I got off, gave Jessie a treat, but everything back, then went in. I figured I was riding for a good 3-4 hours! :-D Later on I came back out, did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a Great day! :-D

Rain in the afternoon.

Bugs, TERRIBLE!

So today in the morning to early afternoon Molly and Jessie grazed the front, and then were later on put in, So while it was sprinkling, I went out there and hung out with the horses, rubbing them, etc. Molly and Jessie have become very round. :-D Cute. So then it started to rain harder I went in. Later on after that I came out, A. and I gave the horses a grooming makeover. I braided Jessie's mane in that plait that goes along the mane. It looks really neat. And Molly and Glory kept on bugging us to be groomed as well. So then I just played a little bit of the circling game with her, and the backup by the tail, then we wandered around a little bit, and I had Molly grooming Glory, Glory grooming Jessie, and Jessie sort of grooming me, and I was rubbing Molly and Jessie. :-D How Cute! So then I let her loose, gave her a handfull of grass for a treat, then did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a Nice day. :-D

Weather, HOT! O_O 80F!

Bugs, TERRIBLE!

So today I thought it might be nice to play with Jessie out back. So I caught her, groomed her, tacked her up English, and with the 12ft line, headed out back. She must of had A Lot of energy from just eating these past couple of days, because she had to get some play out, running around, It was still wet and kind of muddy out, but I got her to canter while playing the circling game, We trotted both ways for the sideways too! So then I led her over to a stump where I got on, and since I was really asking for lightness, I was met with some resistance. Hmm... How Interesting. So after riding around, I got her listening to me, and we rode sideways pretty good both ways, so I got off, went out, re-mounted from the truck, and we went on the trails. She really wanted to eat today, but it was still good to get out. A Lot of leaves were down, so that was kind of fun to ride through. We mostly walked, but trotted here and there. So then I rode back, and after a little bit of more riding around, I got off, and sat with her, then I put her in, untacked, gave her a treat, then put her out to graze with Molly, then I went in.

Later on I came back out, and thought it might be nice to play with Glory. Only this time I thought it would be interesting if I changed things around a bit. So I did everything at Liberty! FOR THE FIRST TIME! :-D During all of this, it was minimal walking around. So I groomed her, tacked her up with the BP, then played with her. So then I got on from the stump, FOR THE FIRST TIME! :-D and we walked around, I used my CS sometimes to re-enforce when needed, but it was GREAT! :-D So then after a little bit of riding, I got off, untacked, gave her a treat, then haltered her so she could go out and graze for awhile. After a little bit of grazing, I asked her to move a little, and she gave me a tantrum. And she wouldn't listen to me, so I put her in before anything could happen, and I played with her. She rolled, and then she licked her lips. So I let her loose, then went in for a couple of minutes, came back out, put Jessie and Molly back in, did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was an EXCITING GREAT AMAZING Day! (On Glory's part), and a GREAT day with Jessie! :-D

I let Jessie and Molly out to graze for half of the day, and Glory came out as well, but I put her on the 12ft line instead of loose. So then after putting Glory back in, I sat in a chair with them for a little while, then I got the apple basket out, and placed it under my chair since Jessie was really getting after me for some more apples. Well she ducked her head under and pushed the basket towards her with her nose, and got them. So then I moved them, and she went around me, and got them. :-D Smart horse. :-D So then I went over to Molly with the basket, and she came over, and I gave her some, then I gave Glory some, and Molly was going after me for some more, with her ears a bit back, but she pricked them after that, and then she started to almost trot after me, so I made quick turns, and ran. Well she came CANTERING after me! :-D It was almost scary to think of it Lol. But I stopped, and made some more quick turns, than ran off again, and I made it in without her grabbing any more apples out. It was fun though. :-D So then I went in for a bit, came back out, put Jessie in, A. took Molly back in, then I did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a pretty nice day. :-D

Weather, Warm, with rain in the afternoon, but cleared up.

Bugs, TERRIBLE! O_O

So today I thought it would be nice to have another Liberty session with Jessie. So I drew her in, groomed her, and played a bit with her. We seemed to have a little trouble with the backing by tail for stopping, but I hope that its all better now. So then I trimmed a little bit of her front hooves, and then just hung out with her and Glory for a long while, then I got on from the stump. We trotted a couple of times, but not very far. She was Really Good on listening to me and my seat, and I only had to re-enforce with the CS a couple of times. Glory and Molly kept on bugging us again, which was cute, but I had to drive them away a lot as they were in our walking way. so then after a little bit more of walking around, I got off, gave her a Big hug, then gave her a treat, then went in.

Then Molly and Jessie were out for the most part of the afternoon grazing around the place, and so I went out, caught Jessie and put her on the 12ft line, and played a bit of the circling game in the bare spot where there isn't any grass, which is about 18' in Di. then I took her out of the portable fence, and we wandered around grazing here and there, and I sat on the porch steps while she grazed a bit there, and she went farther out on the 12ft line, and had zones 4-5 facing me, then she looked back at me with her ears pricked as if she was asking if her facing zone 4-5 was alright, and had almost looked like a "I'm not going to hurt you" face on. :-D It was really cute. Then she went back to grazing, and we wandered on the driveway, then the front, then I let her back in the portable fence, then I let her loose, and she wandered off. Then for chores, someone was out back with a dog, and Glory started to run around with her tail straight up, and that got Molly going, but A. caught Jessie easy, and then after going over to Molly I got her, and I put her in, let her loose, then did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a Great day! :-D

Weather, HOT! Near 80F! O_O

Bugs, TERRIBLE!

So today I thought it would be nice to have a Liberty session with Jessie. So I wrapped the SS around her neck, groomed her, and played with her a little bit, playing with the backup by the tail, and she was really nice and fast! I should get this on a movie! :-D and then I got on from the stump. She was really good, and we trotted a couple of times for a few strides, and she was really listening to my seat, and she'd stop when I let my "life" down, and walk when I rasied it and touched her hair on her sides. :-D Glory kept on bothering us, and Jessie would go over to her hind quarters so Glory'd swish the flies off of her face, and I'd rub Glory, and then I'd tap her with my CS to move out of our way. Molly would also get in the way, and want to be rubbed, so I rubbed her, and do the same by driving her away. More like playing the porcupine game to move them out of our way, Once with Molly we did it in a full circle. :-D So then she'd turn with just using my legs, and some re-enforcement with my CS. Some of her backups where with my weight shift, and wriggling my legs, but I had to a couple of times re-enforce with my CS. But it was really Great! :-D So then I got off, and played with her some more. Driving, backing by the tail, which was Great! And her sideways and sqeeze was GREAT! :-D And all during this, if I drove Jessie to like say for instance the fence, Glory would be on her other side, copying Jessie! :-D I guess she thought that I was having a Liberty session with her too! :-D And I played the circling game at liberty with Jessie, and she did walk off on me a couple of times, and I did get a little bit of a trot, but it was Great! :-D So then I gave her a treat, and Glory was expecting one too! Lol. So Jessie and Glory licked my hands for a little bit, then I did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a GREAT FUN day! :-D

Weather, Hot! 78F!

Bugs, TERRIBLE! O_O

So, today since Molly and Jessie grazed for most part of the day, I thought it would be nice to play with Glory again, and see how things go. So I got everthing ready, and went to halter her, and the halter that I had didn't fit. It was just too small. So I got the one that I tried to knot together myself, and used that instead. So then after I caught her, I groomed her, tacked her up with the BP, and played with her. She was fine with all the games, so then I tried backing her by the tail to make sure it wasn't a too good to be true thing that happened yesterday. So I tugged, and she was trying to figure out what I wanted, so I wriggled the rope a little bit, and she backed up! :-D It wasn't too good, but it was really neat! :-D So then after getting her really nice and listening to me, I got on from the stump, and worked on getting her lighter to go and whoa, and turning, more energetic walk, backing, etc. She was really good today! To get her to go was more of a lifting my energy up, and sqeezing a bit! :-D We have a bit more trouble stopping though, but she was really good! :-D So when we were finished, I got off, untacked, let her loose, and gave her a treat, and when I was walking back to the house, I heard a whinny from her to me! :-D I AM PART OF HER HERD! :-D She didn't want me leaving her! So I met her up on top of the pond dike, and gave her some grass, and she could see Molly and Jessie from there as well. Then I went in, and throughout the day I'd go out and give the horses some apples that A. and I gathered yesterday, and then I went back down to the barn later on, Molly and Jessie still out grazing, and I got the hula hoops out, and played with Glory. She finds those things more amusing than Molly and Jessie, so I'd lay one of her neck, and I'd back up, and she'd walk through, or she'd chew on them instead, or if they were on the ground, just having fun. :-D So then after I put those back I decided that she needed a good mane job, so I brushed her tail haltered, and tied her, then brushed her mane, and braided it. During the mane braiding she didn't want to stay still, and A. put Molly and Jessie back in, so Glory wanted to see them too, but I had her tied, so I got it all done, and then I played a little more with her, some circling, squeezes, She kept on shaking her head a lot because she isn't used to having not much mane to flop around. But she sure looked cute! :-D I didn't get pictures though. Then I played around with the yo-yo game, and she kept on backing up into the jolly ball, and she sqeezed all the air out of it, then kicked it back, and she'd step on it again. :-D Then it rolled in front of her, and she kind of bit it, and it went off a little, so I kicked it back at her, and it bumped her legs, but she didn't try to do anything else with it, so I left it at that, took the halter off, then went to see Jessie. She thought I was going to catch her, so I just played the friendly game with the halter, rubbing her with it in her favorite spots, then left, and got the brush, and brushed her tail and mane. She bent her tail sideways when I brushed her tail, so I took it as it was uncomfortable, so I brushed her mane, and Glory bugging me a lot to be brushed again, then after trying Jessie's tail again which was better, I ran over to Molly to see what she'd do, and she laid back her ears at me, then when I raised the brush, she became interested, and wanted me to brush her. So I brought her mane to one side, and brushed it out good, and brushed her tail a little bit, but Glory being Glory still kept bothering me to be brushed some more. Then after that I did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a Great day! :-D

Weather, Nice. Sunny and breezy.

Bugs, Terrible!

So today since it was so nice out this morning I thought a trail ride would be nice. So I caught Jessie, groomed her, and while I was grooming her, Glory came over to bug us, and I tugged on her tail and she BACKED UP! So I tried it again, and she sort of backed up! She must have really been watching me playwith Jessie to figure this out! :-D So then I tacked her up English, and then went out front to play. She was good at the games I used to have her listen to me, so I got on from some steps, and we set off. She really wanted to munch today, the whole time I had to be prepared. So the whole ride was good except for the eating. We mostly walked, but trotted a little. I sure hope to go on longer trail rides soon. So after we got back I just rode around a little more, asking for more than I usually do like asking her to go sideways without a fence, etc. She got crabby with all that "Extra" I asked of her. So after that I got off, put her in, untacked, let her loose, and gave her a treat, then I was thinking it would be good to play with Glory.

So, I, rather she caught me, I haltered her, and then played with her without a CS. She was really good. Friendly was fine, porcupine was real light as well, driving was Ok, yo-yo was mostly at a phase 1, circling game I think the CS makes her get her energy up too much so its a good thing that I didn't have it with me, and she walked counter-clockwise around, and half walked, half trotted going clockwise. Her sideways was Good, and her squeeze was pretty good. So then I groomed her, and while I groomed her, Molly kept on bugging us to be groomed as well. Resting her muzzle on Glory's back giving me the "poor little o'l me, I'm so cute." look on her face, so I groomed her a bit too, then I tacked her up with the BP, and then got on from a stump, and she is really getting light when I ask her to go! I only had to go to phase 4 once or twice, and the rest of the time it was 1-2! :-D And then we worked on turning direct, and indirect reins, then backing, and then walking again. She was really good. Then I got off, untacked, put everything back, let her loose, gave her a treat, then went in.

Later on Molly and Jessie were grazing around the place, and I just watched them for awhile, then some hours later I took Molly back in, and A. took Jessie. Then I did chores, said goodnight, then went in.

Overall it was a Great day! :-D
